The morning beckoned,
Calls of the rustling leaves,
The wind stampeding through the fields,
The buses horned, as little voices clattered,
The trees swayed like dancers of the day,
The melody of chips to the left,
The tingles of bells on the lawn,
Tickled his ear,
Taking a deep breath, he listened…
The porch doors slammed against the wind,
A slight whisper of people as they passed by
He wondered….
A cascade of joy filled him,
A heavy drag came close and halted,
Footsteps and laughter scurried up the stairs,
Up the porch…towards him,
Lifting his hands he touched them,
Kissed their cheeks
The voices filled around him
The sounds outside vanished as they pulled him away,
In to their world again.
